Budget Issues Resolved
In a recent interview with Bollywood Hungama, Rakesh Roshan revealed that the major hurdle for Krrish 4—budgeting—has been cleared. While the script was completed earlier, determining the exact budget had slowed down production. With clarity on finances now achieved, the project is ready to move forward.
Rakesh Roshan said, “The script didn’t take a lot of time. The pressure was the budgeting. Now that we have an idea of the definite budget required for this film, we’ll be starting the film.”
Release Timeline
Fans can finally mark their calendars. The makers plan to start filming in mid-2026, with an extensive pre-production process already underway. Given the scale and technical complexity of the project, the team is ensuring meticulous planning before shooting begins. The film is slated for a grand release in 2027.
Rakesh Roshan added, “The work is going on in full swing. We are going to start shooting by the middle of next year. This is because the pre-production is much more extensive for this film. Hence, we have to be well prepared before we go on floors. We plan to release it in 2027.”
Hrithik Roshan to Direct Krrish 4
In a surprising turn, Krrish 4 will mark Hrithik Roshan’s debut as a director. Back in March 2025, Rakesh Roshan announced on Instagram that Hrithik would take charge of the director’s chair, alongside Aditya Chopra, to bring the ambitious project to life.
Rakesh Roshan shared, “Duggu, 25 years ago I launched you as an actor, and today again after 25 years you are being launched as a director by two filmmakers—Aditya Chopra and myself—to take forward our most ambitious film #Krrish4.”
Speaking about his new role, Hrithik admitted that he feels nervous yet excited: “I don’t know what to say, but I am afraid and nervous. I feel like I’m back in kindergarten. It seems I have to grow up in a whole different way all over again.”
Legacy of the Krrish Franchise
The Krrish franchise is one of Bollywood’s most successful and pioneering sagas. It began in 2003 with Koi… Mil Gaya, which introduced audiences to Rohit Mehra and the beloved alien Jadoo. The sequel, Krrish (2006), gave India its first mainstream superhero, Krishna Mehra. Krrish 3 (2013) elevated the franchise with groundbreaking VFX and strong storytelling, earning ₹374 crore worldwide on a budget of ₹94 crore.
Now, with Krrish 4, the saga is set to take an exciting new direction under Hrithik Roshan’s vision, blending emotional storytelling, high-end technology, and the legacy of India’s original superhero.
